Welcome to the Bull Terrier Club of North Carolina!
The intent of the Bull Terrier Club of North Carolina (BTCNC) is to bring together Bull Terrier enthusiasts within the state for get togethers, special events, shows, training, etc. Let’s face it the Bull Terrier is a rare breed of canine and you seldom see them in public. Why not join in with the fun by spending time with others who share the same passion for the Bull Terrier breed? Your Bull Terrier would love it and there’s just too much fun to be had with a Bull Terrier!
This isn’t some fancy club that mandates club fee’s or due’s and keeps track of participation during club events. Everything is strictly voluntary and doesn’t cost a dime. Due to the volume of inquiries we have received asking about Bull Terrier Clubs within the state we have finally decided to host one. Yes, it’s a new club and one that we feel will expand very quickly based on the tight knit of Bull Terrier owners within the state that are proud of their Bull Terrier and wish to meet other owners, learn more about the breed, and participate in exhibition events.
Scheduled events will only be approximately once every few months and locations of events will alternate through the state to accommodate to everyone. Meetings will take part in recommended Dog Parks or other public areas best suited for gathering a group of Bull Terriers. AKC events within the area will be posted and coordination conducted for all those that wish to attend for either show participation or just to spectate.
All meetings will not only provide fun and excitement with our beloved family companions but they would always have a productive agenda for learning more about the breed with topics of discussion pertinent to the Bull Terrier breed which include:
- Obedience Training
- Food and Nutrition
- Health and Wellness
- Show Techniques and Training
- and Much More
For those already participating in show events, as well as those interested in showing, you have probably already noticed that AKC events within our immediate area lack Bull Terrier entries which prevent the possibilities of Majors within the white or colored Bull Terrier classes. Historical records which depict low entries within the Bull Terrier classes prevent people from even registering into the shows due to lack of competition. As club members our goal would be to ensure each and every competition we decided to engage in would warrant a Major award event thus providing points earned towards champion AKC titles. Our Handler, Katelyn Bishop, from Klockwork Handling, provides classes on handling for all those that would be interested.
If your Bull Terrier is considered a family members like ours are, this would be a golden opportunity to do something with them that they’d enjoy. With no commitments involved or financial obligations why not sign up now to become a member, meet new friends, and provide your Bull Terrier with something to look forward to once a month.
